Marathon County Farmers Union, in collaboration with Northern Pines fibershed and Midwest Linen Revival is hosting a Linen Harvest Day at Red Door Family Farm (245423 State Hwy 97 Athens, WI 54411). This event will take place on August 2nd from 10am to 2pm (with a rain date of August 9th).
This immersive event will provide farmers, fiber artists, and the broader public with the opportunity to learn about regenerative fiber systems through demonstrations of flax processing and harvesting. Rooted in Fibershed’s mission to develop regional fiber systems that build soil health and strengthen local economies, the field day will highlight how linen production can diversify farm income while fostering deeper connections between growers, makers, and consumers.
This event will empower participants to explore fiber farming as a viable and sustainable addition to their agricultural practices, as well as encouraging participants to consider where their clothing and textiles came from, who made them and how much they really need.
